Before Installing BitDefender Internet Security 2010, you will need to uninstall your previous version of BitDefender or any other Antivirus program installed on your PC.
How to uninstall BitDefender
There are two methods of uninstalling BitDefender from your computer: using the system tools and using the special uninstall tool provided by BitDefender.
Uninstalling BitDefender using the system tools
BitDefender can be uninstalled similar to any other software program as follows:
1. Go to Control Panel and double click Add/Remove programs;
2. Wait for the installed software list to be displayed;
3. Locate BitDefender into this list, highlight it and then click Remove;
4. Wait for the uninstall process to complete and then restart your computer.
Uninstalling BitDefender using the uninstall tool
Alternatively you can use the BitDefender uninstall tool as described below:
1. Click here to download the BitDefender uninstall tool.
2. When prompted, choose Run.
3. After a couple of moments the uninstall tool interface will appear;
4. Click Uninstall;
5. Wait for the tool to display the completion message and then restart your computer.
Installing BitDefender Internet Security 2010
1. Click here to download BitDefender Internet Security 2010.
2. When prompted, choose Run.
3. Follow the Installation Wizard by clicking Next.
4. When prompted click on Restart to restart you computer.
5. After your computer has restarted, you may need to wait a few minutes for the installation wizard to continue.
6. Choose the ‘I want to register a new key’ and enter the Licence Key that we have given you.
7. You will then need to either login to an existing BitDefender account or create a new account with your email address and a password.
8. Follow the prompts to the end of the installation wizard.
